Here is something I have been thinking about lately. I always felt that I would be going away like this, but I always thought it would be to go to war. Deployments in all of the wars in the Twentieth Century like WW2 , Korea, Vietnam, and the Gulf War were a year at least, and I spent a big part of my life in the army training to go. Instead I find myself deploying for peace. What an interesting path the good Lord has put me on. I am extremely grateful to have this opportunity to work with people rather than against them. I haven't always felt that way, but it just goes to show you how much people can change.

  1. Through the decades that I have known you, Brian, you have always been a man of peace. Numerous times you have taken couragous stands to support diversity, inclusiveness and respect for humanity. These actions have often been at the local level, among your colleagues and neighbors. Going to Tanzania is a direct and sustained link to this past. That is why I am confident this is a rich and rewarding opportunity for you and those you will get to know.
